DevOps Engineer • Cloud Infrastructure
🎓 Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) 📍 Cloud & Systems Focus

As a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) graduate, I have grounded my technical foundation in core computer science—algorithms, networking models, and systems architecture. Recognizing that software is only as good as the infrastructure running it, I shifted my focus toward DevOps, Cloud Computing, and Infrastructure Automation.

My day-to-day workflow centers on spinning up repeatable cloud environments on AWS, crafting defensive security group rules, managing collaborative codebases using strict Git workflows, and automating mundane tasks using Linux Bash scripting.

I believe in the mantra: "Automate early, monitor continuously, and treat infrastructure as code." I am actively looking for an entry-level DevOps role where I can contribute to reliable deployments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and expand into Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

01

Cloud Reliability

Building secure, well-isolated AWS compute instances with strict security groups and minimal attack surfaces.

02

Hands-on provisioning, configuration, and security management on Amazon Web Services.

  • EC2 Provisioning & Management Hands-on

Instance sizing (t2/t3), Amazon Linux & Ubuntu AMIs, User Data bootstrap automation, elastic IP handling.

  • Security Groups & Networking Defensive

Inbound/outbound stateful rule enforcement (Port 22 SSH IP whitelisting, HTTP/HTTPS 80/443), basic VPC subnet awareness.

  • IAM Basics & Access Security Principle of Least Privilege

IAM users, group policies, access keys rotation, EC2 IAM instance roles for secure AWS CLI calls.

  • Key Pairs & SSH Bastion Access Secure Access

RSA key pair generation, strict private key permissions (`chmod 400`), passwordless remote login.

Git & GitHub Workflows

Disciplined source control strategies, branch lifecycle management, and collaborative code reviews.

  • Branch Management Strategies Trunk / GitFlow

Feature branching (`feature/*`, `hotfix/*`), release tags, maintaining clean linear histories via rebase.

  • Merge Workflows & Conflict Resolution 3-Way Merges

Resolving complex conflicts locally, interactive rebasing (`git rebase -i`), squash merging for tidy commits.

  • Pull Requests & Branch Protection Governance

Enforcing pull request peer reviews, requiring status checks before merge, preventing direct commits to `main`.

  • GitHub Collaboration & Issues Collaboration

Remote remotes management (`origin`, `upstream`), SSH key auth, semantic commit messages (Conventional Commits).

Linux Administration & Bash

Command-line fluency, shell scripting for task automation, process monitoring, and system configuration.

  • Linux Command Line & Navigation POSIX

    File hierarchy standard, piping & redirection (`|`, `>`, `>>`), text processing (`grep`, `awk`, `sed`, `find`, `curl`).

  • Bash Scripting Fundamentals Automation

Writing reusable scripts with variables, conditionals, loops, exit codes (`set -e`), functions, and log output.

  • Permissions, Users & systemd Admin

`chmod`, `chown`, user groups, `sudo` policies, managing services via `systemctl` (start, restart, status, enable).

  • System Monitoring & Logs Observability

    Monitoring resources (`top`, `htop`, `df -h`, `free -m`, `netstat`/`ss`), inspecting journal logs (`journalctl`, `/var/log`).

AWS LAB

Automated EC2 Web Server Deployment

Designed and provisioned an automated web server on Amazon Web Services using EC2, tightly-scoped Security Groups, custom RSA key pairs, and a Bash User Data bootstrap script.

AWS Console/CLI → VPC / Security Group → EC2 (t3.micro) → Nginx / Apache HTTP 80
✓ Security Group Hardening: Restricted SSH (Port 22) to authorized admin IP; opened public HTTP (Port 80) for web traffic.
✓ Zero-Touch Bootstrapping: Crafted EC2 User Data script installing web server packages, activating systemd daemon, and deploying landing page on initial launch.
✓ Key Management: Configured RSA `.pem` keys with POSIX permission enforcement (`chmod 400`) for passwordless remote administration.

Multi-Branch Git Collaboration Workflow

Architected an enterprise-style Git branching and pull request workflow preventing regressions, simulating complex merge conflicts, and enforcing automated branch protection rules.

feature/infra-setup → PR + Conflict Resolution → develop → main (Protected)
✓ Branch Protection Rules: Enforced mandatory pull request reviews, required passing checks, and disabled force-pushes (`git push -f`) on production branches.
✓ Conflict Resolution Drills: Deliberately simulated concurrent edits on identical lines across team branches, resolving conflicts cleanly using 3-way merge tools.
✓ Clean History Discipline: Leveraged interactive rebase (`git rebase -i`) to squash messy debugging commits into semantic, auditable release logs.

Linux System Daemon & Uptime Watchdog

Engineered a lightweight Bash monitoring script running via cron/systemd that inspects web server status, checks memory/disk thresholds, and automatically self-heals failing daemons.

Cron / Systemd Timer → Health Check Script → Auto-Restart Daemon → Syslog Alert
✓ Automated Self-Healing: Inspects PID states; if Nginx/Apache crashes, restarts service via `systemctl restart` and logs the incident.
✓ Resource Utilization Thresholds: Triggers warning logs when disk partitions exceed 85% capacity or memory leaks are detected.
✓ POSIX Compliant: Built with robust defensive scripting (`set -euo pipefail`) and standardized exit codes.
